Question

Write y equals two thirds x plus 7 in standard form using integers.

2 Answer

  • It would be written out as y=(2^3)X+7
  • y = 2/3 x + 7
Standard form is Ax + By = c where A is a positive integer.
move the 2/3 x to the left by subtracting it from both sides
    -2/3 x + y = 7
multiply every term by -3 to clear the negative and the denominator of 3
    2x -3y = -21
