Question

There are 12 grams of sugar in 1⁄3 of a piece of candy. How much sugar is in 3⁄4 of a piece of candy?

2 Answer

  • simply multiply twelve by three, giving you 36 grams in a full piece of candy, and then divide it by four, nine, and multiple nine by three: twenty seven (27). This is a somewhat roundabout way of doing it but this will work every time you do this kind of problem. (plus its the only way i know how to do it.)
  • Answer:   27

    Step-by-step explanation:

    12/(1/3)=s/(3/4)

    cross multiply

    3/4*12=1/3*s

    9=1/3s

    9*3/1=1/3s*3/1

    27=s
