Question

The following principle is important to meteorology: Warmer air can hold more dissolved water than cooler air. Which scenario depends on this principle?

1 Answer

  • The principle that warmer air can hold more dissolved water than cooler air is important to the concept of weather. When the surrounding gets cold, it is very likely that there will be precipitation. Thus, we will have rain, snow, hailstorm, etc. Warmer air holding more water vapor is very much related to humidity.
